    Today, Framingham State University received the 2021 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The Inspiring Programs in STEM Award honors colleges and universities that encourage and assist students from underrepresented groups to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Framingham State University will be featured, along with 78 other recipients, in the September 2021 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.  Read more...

  22. Framingham State University Receives a National Endowment for The Arts Big Read Grant

    Framingham State University is one of 61 organizations nationwide selected to receive a 2021-2022 NEA Big Read grant. A grant of $19,970 will support a community reading program focusing on An American Sunrise by Joy Harjo, the first Native American Poet Laureate of the United States. Framingham State University's Whittemore Library, in partnership with the Framingham State Danforth Art Museum, MassBay Community College, Framingham Public Library, and the Smithsonian Institute, will coordinate several events in Fall 2021 as part of the effort. A keynote event featuring Joy Harjo will take place on December 8, 2021. Copies of An American Sunrise will be handed out at various partner locations. More details will become available in the fall.     The Christa McAuliffe Center for Integrated Science Learning at Framingham State University, a Smithsonian Affiliate, announces their win of the Teens Dream Changemaker Challenge, a global competition sponsored by the Global CoLab Network, and in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution. The McAuliffe Center mentored six teams of teens who made it to the final round of judging in the competition. Because of the number of outstanding proposals submitted by the students, the McAuliffe Center was awarded the competition's first-ever Mentor Award of $500 which was matched by $1000 from the Smithsonian.     Responding to a call from local hospitals and other medical organizations, Framingham State University has gathered more than $8,000 worth of medical gloves, masks, alcohol swabs, Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, isolation gowns and other supplies on campus to provide to the MetroWest Medical Center.
