Patricia Thomas, PhD
Interim Dean of Business
About the Dean
Dr. Patricia Thomas is the Interim Dean of the College of Business at Framingham State University. Dean Thomas began her career at FSU as a faculty member in the Department of Economics and Business Administration in 2007. She served as chair of the department for 5 years and led the department’s effort to achieve IACBE accreditation in 2017. During her time as a faculty member, she served as advisor and interim coordinator of the MBA program, as well as coordinator of the Management and Accounting evening programs.
Dean Thomas is originally from Grenada but moved to the United States to attend college. She received a Ph.D. in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas, an MS in Information Technology from the University of North Texas, and a BBA in Accounting from Midwestern State University. Dean Thomas enjoys teaching technology and quantitative courses designed for managing businesses. Her research interests are in social media marketing, e-government, information privacy and security, and technology acceptance. Outside of FSU, Dean Thomas serves on several committees aimed at fostering cross-cultural business opportunities, promoting women and people of color in business, and supporting education and business development in the Caribbean.
