Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL)
This is a series of qualifying exams. All licensure candidates must pass all required tests. http://www.mtel.nesinc.com/
- When registering for any portion of the MTEL, please have all results sent to Framingham State University.
- In addition, all Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program and Secondary Education (MEd) candidates must send personal MTEL 001 Communication and Literacy Skills to the Office of Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@framingham.edu.
As an Educator Preparation Provider (EPP), we are held to high standards to meet federal and state regulations as well to maintain national accreditation and state program approval. To meet these standards, we must have gates (currently at FS II and student teaching), in which candidates must meet standards. The standards are assessed via GPA, MTEL, and the Dispositions Assessment Rubric.

Please note that CASA writing tutors are able to assist with preparation for MTEL 001 Communication and Literacy Skills. See Ally Chisholm (achisholm@framingham.edu) at CASA for assistance.
