Dr. Cynthia Bechtel

Dr. Bechtel is teaching NURC 915 Advanced Technology and Nursing Informatics, NURC 905 Health and Education Resources and Policies, NURE 951 Course Development and Implementation, NURE 981 Advanced Teaching Methods, and NURE 991 Application of Technology to Education.

Dr. Bechtel obtained her PhD at University of Massachusetts Worcester, M.S. at Regis College, B.S. at Ceder Crest College and her diploma at Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.

Dr. Bechtel is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the FSU Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Service for 2016 and the NAGS Graduate Teaching Award in 2015!

Susan M. Mullaney, EdD, RN, CNE

Dr. Mullaney teaches NURL 943 Strategic Planning for Nursing’s Future, NURL 953 Role in Healthcare Systems, NURL 983 Practicum in Organizational Management Skills, NURL 993 Internship in Independent Leadership Skills, and NURC 925 Ethical, Social, and Cultural Competencies.

Dr. Mullaney received her Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University, M.S. from University of Massachusetts, Worcester, M.A. from Framingham State University and B.S.N. from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Dr. Mullaney has been the recipient of many incredible awards, such as the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Massachusetts/Rhode Island League for Nursing (MARILN) in 2015!

Dr. Ellen Rearick

Dr. Rearick will be teaching the new Graduate Certificate Program in Nursing Case Management!

Dr. Rearick also teaches NURM 910: Professional Foundations and Care Coordination, NURM 920: Quality Management and Health Promotion, and NURM 980: Seminar and Practicum in Case Management.

Dr. Rearick obtained her PhD at  University of Massachusetts Worcester, MSN at University of Massachusetts Worcester, BSN at University of Massachusetts Amherst and ASN at Quinsigamond Community College.

Dr. Fisher is a nurse educator with more than 25 years of experience teaching students in a variety of nursing settings including practical nursing, associate degree, baccalaureate degree, master's and doctoral programs.

She teaches the research courses in the MSN program.  She has conducted or collaborated on research in the areas of Nursing Education, Self-Efficacy, Diabetes Mellitus, Compassion Fatigue, and Moral Distress with a number of publications and presentations.

Dr. Fisher obtained her BSN at Fitchburg State University, MSN with a concentration in nursing education and administration at Russell Sage College and PhD in Nursing at University of Rhode Island.

Dr. Melanson will be teaching many classes including, NURE 941 Curriculum Design and Evaluation, NURC 905 Health and Education Resources and Policies and NURC 935 Essential Preparation for Advanced Nursing Role.

Dr. Melanson obtained her DNP at Regis College, MSN at Boston College, BSN at Boston College and RN at Somerville hospital school of nursing.

Dr. Melanson has been the recipient of many accolades, such as the “Nurse of the Year Award” from the March of Dimes in 2013, the Certificate of Appreciation for Volunteer group leader in 2013 from Resolve of Bay State, the Certificate of Appreciation for participation in Centennial from the Mass Board of Registration in Nursing in 2010.

Rita is a teaching assistant in the FSU MSN Nursing Research course under the leadership of Dr. Kelly Fisher. Rita obtained a bachelor's degree in education majoring in Social Studies and Economics at University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. 

Rita taught in both elementary and high school for eight years in Ghana. Currently, Rita is enrolled in the Graduate Entry Pathway to PhD in Nursing program at UMASS Medical Graduate Nursing School in Worcester. Presently, Rita is a doctoral candidate in the dissertation phase and she is expecting to complete the program in 2021.

Rita is interested in the humanization in healthcare, patient-centered nursing, nurse-patient therapeutic relationship, nurse resiliency and nursing theory. Rita is currently developing a nursing concept for dissertation: Ubiety in Nursing Practice—Caring for one patient at a time amidst distractions. In addition, Rita is also a part time staff nurse in a sub-acute unit, a per diem travel nurse in rehab facilities and a teaching associate in UMASS Medical Graduate Nursing School.

Dr. Gardner is the teaching assistant for the MSN program at Framingham State University. Dr. Gardner obtained her DNP from University of Massachusetts Boston, her MSN from Framingham State University, BSN from Chamberlain University Nursing and ADN from Becker College.
