Dr. Megan Mayer's areas of interest include sociocultural aspects of food, community nutrition, food justice, sustainable agricultural, and food systems. Her research focuses on applied, school- and community-based interventions that support nutrition and wellness. She studies the strengths, barriers, and areas for growth in farm to school and school wellness programs, has contributed to innovative research on child food literacy, and collaborated to the develop and implementation of innovative community-based research about incentivizing healthy snacking in children.
