Kathryn started college at Syracuse University, before deciding it was too expensive and too far from home. Her mom, an FSU alumna, helped convince her to enroll in a class at FSU in spring 2020. During her junior year, Kathryn was accepted into Liberty Mutual’s immersive TechStart Summer Internship Program. She worked with a team on the digital accessibility center, using software to code in a way that meets accessibility standards. The experience led to a job offer just before the start of her senior year. But she didn’t stop there. Before graduating, she joined the University’s annual India J-Term experience, a unique and intensive three-week study abroad program designed to enhance students’ global and cultural perspectives, increase awareness of self within the world and develop skill sets relevant to life after graduation.
