On-demand Training 

Adopting a new learning management system may require you to adopt new strategies. Are you wondering what teaching will look like next semester and what kind of training you might need? Canvas on-demand training is available for both faculty and students. Sharing the link to the student tutorial is also a good place to start. 

Passport to Canvas for Students

The PASSPORT TO CANVAS self-directed course is a great way for students to learn how to use Canvas. Each module focuses on one Canvas tool. Move through the Modules in order or, open only the Modules you would like to learn more about including: 

  • Keeping track of the work you are assigned by your instructor, grades and feedback 
  • Organizing all of the learning material your instructor has created 
  • Help for staying in touch with other members of your class 
  • Growing with Canvas for Faculty 

Growing with Canvas

Faculty may explore the GROWING WITH CANVAS tutorial to learn the basics of building a course or refresh a specific skill. The course is organized in five modules that may be viewed sequentially or by topic. If additional help is needed, request a consultation from the Education Technology Office, attend a workshop, or view our library of workshop videos

Creating accessible content is a place to start to make your courses more accessible to students. There are many services and support resources available. 

Whether in-person or online, students are entitled to academic accommodations due to a disability. Library

Librarians are still here to help you! A librarian can answer any questions you have about library resources or the research process. Don’t know where to get started on your research paper? Need to find an article? Contact a librarian! Librarians will be available to answer questions over email or by remote appointments. Updates about the library and hours of remote reference are posted on the Library website. Contact reference@framingham.edu to get your questions answered or to set up a remote research appointment.

Ram Answers

Ram Answers is a self-service FAQ to answer all your questions about the library! Ram Answers offers a simple to search interface to find what you are looking for, with an option to submit your question if it hasn’t been answered in our system yet. You can access Ram Answers at: https://framingham.libanswers.com/

Chat with a Librarian and Text with a Librarian

The library is offering two new ways to ask librarians questions! Starting September 8, you will be able to text a librarian your questions at, (508) 882-6225 or send a librarian an instant message from the library home page and other spots on the library website!

Starfish

Starting September 8, students will be able to make research appointments with a librarian from Starfish! Students may make appointments with a particular librarian, or choose based off the time that is most convenient to them.
