Extend Your Classroom With Video

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is available to all faculty and staff who use Blackboard. The updated synchronous collaboration tool is designed specifically for education. Collaborate is integrated into Blackboard to easily facilitate engagement and interaction from within a Blackboard course at any time. Examples include, virtual class meetings, virtual office hours and guest speaker engagements in real-time. For best performance Google Chrome is recommended.

The Panopto Lecture Capture platform enables Blackboard instructors with the tools to record lectures in real time, pre-record supplemental information in advance of a class meeting or record guest presentations. The connection between the Panopto server and the corresponding Blackboard course is a manual process referred to as “provisioning.” To be eligible for provisioning, all first time users are asked to request an orientation consultation with a member of the Education Technology team.

Use Asistive Technologies

Framingham State University supports a coordinated approach to student learning and the use of accessible instructional materials. The Accessibility Task Force on Instructional Materials was formed in the spring of 2017 in response to the need to comply with regulations and to support the inclusion and diversity mission at the university. The work of the team capitalizes on existing accessibility practices, resources and technologies in use in the Henry Whittemore Library, CASA and ETO offices.
