LEAD Workshop Series
Learn, Engage, Advance, & Demonstrate
"Rams Leading Rams"
What is the LEAD Workshop Series?
Student Involvement & Leadership Development (SILD) presents the LEAD Workshop Series! This Workshop series is comprised of 14 different workshops spanning from Fall 2020 through Spring 2021, presenting important and necessary skills for you as a current student leader, but also in your future careers as well. Come along with us as we delve deeper into the very foundation of what it means to be a student leader at FSU and how to run an effective student organization. We will discuss such topics as, "How to Spend Your Student Org Money", or "How to Create an Event That is Both Enjoyable and Receives a Good Turn Out", or even "How to Hold a Successful Meeting and Learning How to Keep New Members". In addition to these topics, we will also be broadening into such topics as: "Diversity & Inclusion", "Time Management", "Self-Care and Work-Life Balance".
What can you expect to get out of the series?
- Learning important skills that you can demonstrate on campus but also take with you after graduation.
- How to take these skills and cement them in your resume/cover letters in order to get interviews for future jobs.
- You will also learn how you can demonstrate these skills with your experience.
- Engage in hands on and interactive activities to solidify the information you are gaining throughout this series.
- Advance your knowledge in areas that you may be unfamiliar with.
- Demonstrate what you have learned through being a committed and well-rounded student leader.
Additional Benefits from the series:
As student leaders of organizations that are in Active Status for the Fall 2020 semester, you have the opportunity to receive money in your Class & Club Accounts as an incentive for attending this workshop series. In order to receive this money, you MUST have at least one representative from your student organization attend at least 8 out of the 14 workshops. (Note: this does not need to be the same rep each time, and your org may choose which workshops to attend). *More reps from your student org are encouraged to attend.
Outside of the above opportunity, as an individual student who attends all 14 workshops, you will be offered the chance to graduate the workshop series and receive a certificate awarded to you, which you can promote on your resume and to future potential employers.
