All History majors are required to complete a Workforce Preparation Experience, which they may fulfill through internships for academic credit or field study experiences, ensuring that students gain practical skills applicable to their professional aspirations. Students should discuss with their advisor the Workforce Preparation Experience that will best advance their career goals. Students interested in pursuing an internship for partial or full academic credit should consult with the department internship coordinator to determine whether to register for HSTY 395: Professional Internship in History, HSTY 495: Internship in History, DGHM: Internship in Digital Humanities, or MUSE 495: Internship in Museum Studies, depending on their course of study and the nature of the internship.
