Overview

Strong writing skills are important to nearly any profession. The Professional Writing minor will provide you with a strong foundation in expository and professional writing. Then choose your electives based on your own interests, including courses in journalism, persuasive writing, writing about science, feature writing, grant writing, business writing, technical writing, and writing for social media.

Choose two (2) professional writing courses from the following, at least one of which must be at the 300 level:

Note: Students should plan to work with the Department Chair of English to identify an appropriate internship experience during the semester prior to enrolling in ENGL 495 Internship in English.
