An Evening of Public Events Hosted by the McAuliffe Center on Friday
Friday, March 27, starting at 5 p.m.
The McAuliffe Center has three public events on tap for this Friday.
Thing kickoff at 5 p.m. in the Planetarium, with a showing of Undiscovered Worlds on the dome. Do Earth-like planets exist elsewhere in the universe? Travel to distant stars and fly up close to exotic planets. Experience the science shifting our perspective on humanity’s place in the cosmos.
At 6 p.m., take in breathtaking images of the solar system while listening to Pink Floyd's iconic 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon. NSC Creative have led the visual production efforts, working closely with Pink Floyd’s long time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis, to create the ultimate ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ fulldome experience.
Finally, at 7:30 p.m. join the McAuliffe Center staff under the stars in front of May Hall for Community Stargazing (weather dependent).

Movie Night: On the basis of sex
Friday, March 27, 6 to 8 p.m., Center for Inclusive Excellence
Join the CIE as we screen On the Basis of Sex, a powerful film that follows Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s early fight for gender equality. This screening offers an engaging opportunity to learn about the legal and social battles that shaped women’s rights in the United States.
Celts Scholarly and Creative Showcase
Thursday, March 26, 6 p.m. on Zoom
This roundtable, moderated by Professor Lisa Eck, brings together three visiting lecturers in Framingham State University’s English Department for a cross-disciplinary conversation on how art and thought respond to moments of instability. From the strange beauty of French modernism—as reflected in Maurice Blanchot’s meditations on literature and Robert Bresson’s ascetic Notes on the Cinematograph—to the politically charged creativity of early twentieth-century Black print culture, these works in progress explore how literary, philosophical, and cinematic forms register uncertainty and transform it into renewal.

This training, offered by Yuja, will provide instruction for faculty in using Panorama for assessing and remediating a Canvas course. Sessions will be held remotely, via Zoom, at the following times:
Wednesday, March 25, 2:30 p.m. - Zoom Link
