Over the course of his two decades in the media industry, Ben Watanabe has been at the forefront of new developments in the business and content realms. He began his career as a newspaper reporter for Gannett, and more recently oversaw all editorial content for the New England Sports Network, where he evolved content strategies and workflows through two major website revisions and co-led the content launch of NESN Bets, a customized sports gaming vertical for New England fans.
Ben is a strong believer that every person can write, and everyone has a story worth writing about. His background in sports journalism and breaking news instilled in him the importance of simplicity, conciseness and clarity over lofty vocabulary, in order to make your message accessible for all readers.
Prior to joining Framingham State, he taught Interactive Journalism at Emerson College. Born in Boston, Ben earned his B.A. from Temple University in Philadelphia, and his M.S from Columbia University in New York.
