Dennis Giombetti was born and raised in Framingham and attended Framingham Public Schools. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Framingham State University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. He also received a Master’s Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo, and an MBA in Marketing from Bentley University.

Giombetti has had a 27-year career in high technology holding various marketing and sales positions including Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region. He retired from 3Com in 2008 as the Director of North America Field Marketing. Giombetti has also enjoyed a career as a local elected official, first to the Board of Selectmen in 2005. He served nine years, of which five were as Board Chair. When Framingham became a city in 2018, Giombetti was elected to the City Council and became the first-ever City Council President. Giombetti currently works part-time for State Senate President Karen Spilka on her district staff.

Giombetti’s family has a deep connection with Framingham State University. His wife and daughter both hold undergraduate and graduate degrees from FSU. His younger brother also received a FSU undergraduate degree.
