Ira Silver is Professor of Sociology at Framingham State University, where he has taught since 2002. In recent years, Ira has taught seven different courses. He is currently developing a new course, Social Connection. Students will learn about forces fueling social fragmentation and practice strategies for forging meaningful social relationships across a range of situations. He has authored or edited five books including, most recently, a textbook for undergraduate social problems courses: Seeing Social Problems: The Hidden Stories Behind Contemporary Issues, 2nd edition, Rowman and Littlefield, 2024.
