My current position is Associate Professor of Biology at Framingham State University, Framingham, MA, where my primary role is to teach and conduct research with undergraduates. I am a limnologist, and completed my M.S. and Ph.D. at Michigan State University. I am broadly interested in the impacts to and responses of freshwater ecosystems to global change, and the ecological implications of diversity within species. My past and ongoing work have employed the harmful phytoplankter, Microcystis, as a study system. This organism causes significant water quality impairments, through its formation of 'harmful algal blooms' (a type of cyanobacteria/formerly 'blue-green algae').
