Marcia Fernandes assists the English Language Program staff and students as a Portuguese interpreter and translator, among other projects. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Portuguese and Spanish Language and Literature. She also holds a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from UERJ - Rio de Janeiro State University in Brazil, where she was born and raised. She is a retired high school Portuguese teacher. For over eight years, she also worked as an ESL program coordinator in Rio de Janeiro before relocating to the USA. She likes hiking, swimming, SUPboarding, reading and cooking
