Her interests are Race and Ethnicity, Latinx Studies, Higher Education Attainment, and Immigration. She is a former Mary Miles Bibb Fellow and the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. She is currently researching how first-generation, multiethnic Latinx students navigate identity, belonging, and exclusion within campus cultural organizations at predominantly white institutions. This collaborative project builds on her broader work examining how communities of color transmit capital and resilience to underrepresented high-achieving students.
