The Certificate in Enterprise Systems provides needed training in Enterprise computing to supply the shortage of mainframe trained employees. The certificate consists of five courses identified at a round table discussion with Boston area IBM customers in need of mainframe knowledgeable employees.
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to write programs in COBOL and Assembler Language.
- Demonstrate an understanding of IBM Enterprise systems.
- Address the purpose of security and explain why we use it.
- Identify and apply the importance of programming techniques.
- Identify and apply data management techniques and DB2's solution to various problems.
Certificate Admission Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Equivalency) or HiSET (High School Equivalency Test)
Certificate Course Requirements:
This certificate program requires the successful completion of 4 courses listed below.
Required Courses (4)
Core Course (1):
Choose three (3) additional courses from the following:
- ESMT 208 COBOL Programming for Enterprise Systems
- ESMT 222 Networking and Security for Enterprise Systems
- ESMT 234 Introduction to DB2 for z/OS
- ESMT 305 Assembler Language for z/OS
