The Certificate in Accounting is designed for individuals who are interested in learning more about the accounting profession, the role of accountants in business, and developing an accounting knowledge base.
Candidates for the Certificate in Accounting must have a high school degree or GED. Certificate courses must be completed with an overall grade point average of C (2.00) or better. One of the six-course requirements may be waived due to previous college coursework in Accounting.
Students will be able to:

Use accounting terminology.
Prepare, analyze, and interpret accounting information to prepare appropriate documents.
Analyze financial transactions.
Communicate accounting results to management.
Apply accounting information in making business decisions.
