Bruce M. Bucci is a faculty member in Framingham State University's World Language/American Sign Language Program. His life’s work has centered around building respectful alliances between Deaf and hearing people. Bruce’s unique perspectives are a result of his experience as a member of the Deaf community, a parent of a Deaf and hearing child, an educator for Deaf children, and a range of professional capacities. In each of these roles, he has focused on illuminating the importance of essential issues related to human language, culture, and access. As a faculty here at Framingham State University, Bruce is working with undergraduate students to create resources that encourage positive and productive awareness of American Sign Language, partnerships with hearing parents of Deaf children, and how these both contribute to enhancing social justice for Deaf people.
