As a leader in the higher education academic environment, Dr. Fisher integrates best-practices from learning science, adult learning, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation guiding graduate students to conduct research in a multitude of education and leadership professional areas. Dr Fisher has been a nurse for over 30 years with 25 years in both teaching and administrative roles at the associate, baccalaureate, master's and doctorate levels. She aims to develop future nurse educators and leaders who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to conduct research towards an intentional practice change in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. She has served her professional organization Massachusetts Rhode Island league for Nursing is a board member and is currently an active member. She has the knowledge required to advocate for effective pedagogy to meet healthcare professionals where they are as adult learners, the skills to collaborate across practice settings to develop research to address current healthcare challenges, and an attitude of teaching being a deliberate practice requiring self-reflection, lifelong learning, and continuous quality improvement.
