May Hara teaches courses in multilingual education, educational policy, and the student teaching practicum. Her research is at the intersection of educational policy and teacher education, with a specific focus on teacher policy advocacy. She is the co-author of “Teachers as Policy Advocates: Strategies for Collaboration and Change” (Teachers College Press, 2023). Her current book project focuses on Asian American teachers and teacher candidates. She is a former middle school English teacher.
