Mayari Serrano Anazco is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Framingham State University.  She is a user experience researcher with a Ph.D. in Technology from Purdue University, where her research focused on multimodal virtual learning environments and the effects of visuohaptic simulations on conceptual learning. She also holds a master’s degree in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue and a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the Army Polytechnic School in Ecuador.

Mayari Serrano's research spans human-centered computing, artificial intelligence, and cyber-physical systems, with a focus on haptic human-machine interfaces and immersive learning environments. Her publications demonstrate an interdisciplinary interest, covering topics such as multimodal learning environments, embodied cognition, complex concepts, user experience, spatial abilities, gender bias, gender stereotypes, e-mentoring, sense of belonging, campus climate, and exergaming.​

Dr. Serrano is an active member of professional organizations like the American Society for Engineering Education and the IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics.
