Dr. Sarah DiMeo is a visiting assistant professor teaching Introduction to Assistive Technology. She has two decades of experience as an occupational therapist in pediatric practice including private and public schools. Dr. DiMeo earned her B.S. in occupational therapy from Utica College, her M.S. in occupational therapy from Tufts University, and her Ph.D. in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University. Dr. DiMeo’s research has included evaluating assessment tools used for assistive technology as well as exploring the role of occupational therapists in assistive technology assessment in the United States. She is the creator of the Early Skills Vocational Program, which can help school-based occupational therapists incorporate occupation-based intervention in school practice. Dr. DiMeo’s work has been published in multiple journals including OT Practice, AOTA SIS Quarterly Practice, and Journal of the American Academy of Special Education. Dr. DiMeo is a full-time faculty member and graduate coordinator in the occupational therapy department at Worcester State University.
