McDonald is at the University at Buffalo School of Law
Jeremy McDonald has not wasted anytime in making his mark at the University at Buffalo School of Law.
He is the President of the Labor and Employment Law Society, was the only first-year student hired as a law clerk at the labor law firm Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC, and is a member of the student-wide judiciary.
“I felt really well prepared coming in from Framingham State,” says McDonald, who was a Political Science major with a concentration in Pre-Law at FSU. “Not only from the classes I took, but having the experience doing briefings, and learning the practical skills you use in law school put me ahead of some of my peers. The Moot Court class I took at Framingham State was a huge help for my oral argument course, because I had already done it before. It helped a lot with the nerves.”
McDonald developed a passion for labor and employment law during an internship at the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission while at Framingham State.
“I did federal employment discrimination work and I found the work really meaningful and important,” he says.
Now a sophomore, McDonald is serving as a TA in a Civil Procedures course and is a judicial law clerk in the New York State Unified Court System. He’s also been invited back to continue his work at Bond, Schoeneck & King next summer.
“It’s been a great experience,” McDonald says. “I’m excited about the future.”
