LaToya Lewis, the September 2026 Student-in-the-Spotlight, is a graduate of the University’s Accelerate the Future cohort in counseling psychology. The program’s evening schedule and hybrid format allowed her to pursue her master’s degree while continuing her work in behavioral health.
As a clinical navigator supervisor at Open Sky, LaToya has led staff and helped individuals connect with treatment, housing, employment, and other resources, including people preparing to return to their communities after incarceration. She has also facilitated community health equity discussions and mentored young people. During the September 16, 2026 Board of Trustees meeting, LaToya spoke about the faculty encouragement and support for working adults that helped her complete her degree. She has since accepted a new clinical position and continues to bring compassion, advocacy, and lived experience to her work.
