Achieve Your Academic and Professional Goals in the Department of Communication Media and Performance at Framingham State University
The mission of the Communication, Media, and Performance department is to prepare students to become critical thinkers and creative communicators. Our students practice human communication in all its forms—from public performance to critical writing, to social media and filmmaking. We prepare scholars and practitioners of the communication arts who inform, influence, and entertain in creative and constructive ways. Effective communication is a key to success in any professional field.
The Communication Arts major introduces students to the theory and practice of communication, engaging them in a wide range of experiences in performance, social media, and media production (including film, podcasting, and music). All students complete a workplace internship and are prepared to move directly into the workplace upon graduation. Some students go on to post-graduate study. We aim to prepare students to embrace the complexity of the world, and to adapt creatively to inevitable changes throughout their lives.
