Merit Scholarships

  • $3,000/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

If you achieve a minimum of a 3.70 GPA in high school with a rigorous high school curriculum including honors courses and/or AP courses, you will be invited to join the Framingham State University Honors Program and receive this $3,000 annual scholarship ($1,500 per semester). Participation in the honors program is required. If you choose not to participate you will receive the Presidential Scholarship instead. This award is renewable for 4 years or 8 semesters ($12,000 value) as long as you are meeting the minimum course and grade requirements.

Transfer students who are part of the Commonwealth Honors Program as indicated on the college transcript will also receive this scholarship.

  • $1,000/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

By earning a 3.30-3.69 high school GPA, you will receive the $1,000 Presidential Scholarship ($500 per semester). This award is renewable for 4 years or 8 semesters ($4,000 value).

  • $2,500/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

The Out-of-State Tuition Award reduces your annual tuition cost by $2,500 if you do not qualify for in-state tuition or the New England Tuition Break Program. This award is renewable for 4 years or 8 semesters ($10,000 value).

  • $2,500/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

The Out-of-State Housing Award reduces your on-campus housing cost by $2,500 if you do not qualify for in-state tuition or the New England Tuition Break Program. You must live in one of FSU’s residence halls. This award is renewable for 4 years or 8 semesters ($10,000 value) as long as you continue to live on-campus.

  • $1,000/per year; full-time enrollment in day courses

Framingham State University alumni may recommend you for the Ram Alumni Award before you apply for admission. It will not be awarded to students who have already been admitted. Alumni should complete the Refer a Ram form for consideration. This award is renewable for 4 years or 8 semesters ($4,000 value).

  • $1,000/year; full-time enrollment in day courses 

If you participate in the Bottom Line program you are eligible for this $1,000 per year award for 4 years or 8 semesters ($4,000 value). Only available for students residing on campus. 

 

  • $1,000/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

If you participate in the OneGoal program you are eligible for this $1,000 per year award for 4 years or 8 semesters ($4,000 value). Only available for students residing on campus. 

  • 100% of day division tuition, fees, and room and board for up to eight semesters 

Supporting academically talented students majoring in English or other specified majors in the Humanities, who demonstrate financial need. Recipients will receive the financial resources needed to fully experience college life, and link robust career preparation and extra-curricular activities with academic work to position Mancuso Scholars for post-college, entry-level positions. Completion of the FAFSA is required.

  • $970/year; full-time enrollment in day courses

The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship is a merit-based program that provides a credit toward tuition only for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university. For this scholarship, merit is based on your scores on the 10th grade Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test. Completion of the FAFSA is also required. You will be notified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Education. If you are eligible, notification is usually sent in the fall of your senior year. Submit a copy of your letter to the FSU financial aid office to have this award applied to your student account.

  • Full value of tuition and mandatory fees ($11,920 for 2024-2025)

The Paul Tsongas Scholarship rewards Massachusetts students with a high school GPA of at least 3.75. The scholarship is renewable for up to 4 consecutive years of full-time enrollment (minimum of 3 courses per semester) and a minimum earned 3.30 GPA. You also must complete the FAFSA each year. Up to five recipients are selected each year.
