RN-to-BS Program is flexible for working professionals
Jessica Davis is a student in Framingham State's RN-to-BS Nursing Program, which was developed to be flexible for professional nurses seeking career advancement.
I am a Registered Nurse, and have spent the last six years practicing and learning in acute Med-Surg/Telemetry, Hospice, and Homecare. Currently, I am completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Framingham State University. My journey has been driven by a deep, personal commitment to trauma-informed advocacy and my professional dedication to health equity for all.
I chose Framingham State University because I needed a program that could serve as a launchpad for elite success. As a working professional nurse, the flexible hybrid format was essential in allowing me to maintain my clinical practice while engaging in rigorous academic study. FSU provided the clinical and leadership foundation that allowed me to bridge the gap from clinical excellence to systemic change, moving from my ADN roots toward my goal of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The university has not just been a place of study, but a nurturing environment that has fostered my growth as a leader. The resourceful faculty at FSU have been instrumental in this transition. Their wealth of real-world experience and accessibility transformed my learning experience. Through their exemplary leadership and mentorship, I have felt supported in developing the resilience and commitment necessary to uplift my community. The curriculum goes beyond standard nursing education; it is anchored in a social justice focus that challenges us to view health through the lens of equity and systemic change.
This program is preparing me with the systems-level expertise required to succeed in my future endeavors. By providing a diverse and inclusive classroom experience, FSU has helped me absorb cultural insights that are essential for refining the responsiveness of my future practice and in providing culturally competent health equity for all.
I am eager to carry the values of FSU forward as I transition into my BSN-DNP. I am confident that the foundation built here has positioned me to lead efforts in reducing health disparities and improving community outcomes for years to come.
