Izayah “Zay” Morgan is a Psychology major with a minor in Journalism

Izayah “Zay” Morgan is a Psychology major with a minor in Journalism who works part-time in the University’s Center for Inclusive Excellence. He is a member of the Psychology Club, and a peer tutor for the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) as well as the Opinions Editor for The Gatepost student newspaper. He was recently recognized by the University with the Beacon Award for his efforts to foster an inclusive campus environment at Framingham State.

I had the chance to attend several different universities, but Framingham State’s Psychology program stood out to me. I really love the culture and the people here, it makes even the days when it’s tough to keep up with everything I have going on feel manageable.

I’ve really enjoyed working for Jerome Burke in the Center for Inclusive Excellence. I’ve gotten the chance to do a lot of exciting things, including emceeing an event featuring Ndaba Mandela (an author and Nelson Mandela’s grandson), which was a huge honor. I also received the Beacon Award for my efforts to foster an inclusive and equitable campus environment, which meant a lot to me. To be recognized for the work I’ve been doing made me feel seen and heard.

My goal after graduation is to work with students and other people who have special needs and behavioral issues.
