Spotlight on Food and Nutrition
Mariah Tucker Sabir '16
WIC Nutritionist, Massachusetts General Hospital
"I cannot say enough about the dedication of the FSU nutrition faculty to prepare me for my job and life. Besides nutrition and foods, they taught me time management, perseverance, and critical thinking skills. I am now confident in my abilities to tackle any nutrition career path I choose. They were my source of encouragement when I thought I wouldn't make it to graduation."
Catherine Wickham, PhD, RDN, CD-N
Associate Professor, Faculty Liaison for John C Stalker Institute
Time flies when you are having fun! I’ve been part of the FSU community for 7 years, but it seems like I just started yesterday. My path to FSU was long and nontraditional but I had outstanding mentors who encouraged me when I thought about quitting. Mentorship is important for me to pay forward since it represents not just a sharing of knowledge but a fostering of potential.
"What could be more important than a little something to eat." While Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne) said it, I believe it. One of my passions at FSU has been developing a culinary community bringing students, faculty, and staff together to learn about food, cook new recipes, and of course eat…what could be better!
