Folashadé Solomon, EdD

Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator

Dr. Folashadé Solomon is an Assistant Professor and the Program Coordinator for the Master of Education concentration in Educational Technology. Dr. Solomon is also the Program Coordinator for the Master of Education concentration in Curriculum & Instruction and Master of Education concentration in Elementary Education.

Dr. Solomon received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a Master of Science in Leadership and Policy in Education from Wheelock College. In addition, Dr. Solomon received both her Masters and Doctorate in Education in Administration, Planning and Social Policy K-12 from Harvard Graduate School of Education.


Sandra Shaw, MEd

Program Advisor

After ten years in software development, Sandra Shaw left the corporate world behind and entered Framingham State University (FSU)’s  Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure (PBTL) Elementary 1-6 program.  Sandy taught in middle and elementary schools between 1997 and 2006; she completed her M.Ed. Instructional Technology in 2000.

Sandy joined FSU in 2007 as the Field Placement Coordinator for the Education Department and assumed the role of the FSU Educator Licensure Officer in 2013.  In addition to her full-time responsibilities in placement and licensure, Sandy serves as the advisor for M.Ed. Educational Technology, M.Ed. Instructional Technology, M.Ed. Elementary, and pre-admission advisor for the PBTL program.   

Sandy received her B.A. in Mathematics from Merrimack College and her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Lesley University. Sandy is available in-person or by telephone for advising appointments on Tuesdays after 4:30 p.m.   She can be reached by email at

Kelly Kolodny, PhD

Professor, Coordinator of Core Education Courses

Dr. Kelly Kolodny is a Professor at Framingham State University and the Coordinator of the core education courses for the Master of Education program. She is also the Coordinator of the Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program. Dr. Kolodny's research interests focus on the learning and development of children; educational collaborations between schools, families, and community institutions; educational biography; and history of schooling.

Dr. Kolodny has taught EDUC 200 Education in American Society; EDUC 376 Early Childhood Curriculum: Social Studies; EDUC 346 Elementary Curriculum: Social Studies; EDUC 431/432 Early Childhood Professional Practicum;   EDUC 437/438 Elementary Professional Practicum; EDUC 999 Research and Evaluation; and First Year Foundations Seminar.

Dr. Kolodny received her B.A. from Clark University, her M.A.T. from Rhode Island College and her Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. She was the recipient of the FSU Distinguished Faculty Service Award in 2014.
