Program & Admissions Requirements

The Master of Human Resources (M.H.R.) program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to assume a position in human resource management.

Complete the online graduate admission application.
Applicants must have received a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.00 GPA from a regionally accredited college/university and must submit all official college-level transcripts. Applicants who studies outside of the United State must submit official transcripts and a course-by-course evaluation for US equivalency.
- Students who do not meet these requirements may be offered the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to do successful graduate work by:
  - Taking two advisor-approved courses and earning a grade of B (3.00) or better in each course;
    OR
  - Taking either the Graduate Management Admissions Test, Graduate Record Examination, or the Miller Analogies Test and achieving a score in the 60th percentile higher.
Submit a typed, 300-word personal statement discussing their motivation for seeking a master’s degree in view of prior formal education, current job responsibilities,
Two (2) recommendations must be submitted electronically through the Recommendation section of the application. One letter must be from an employer or supervisor, and the second letter must be from a faculty member who has taught the candidate at the collegiate level if the candidate attended classes in the last five years; if a faculty recommendation is not possible, the second letter should be another professional recommendation.

Additional Information

Transfer Credit

Requests for a waiver of a program prerequisite or approval of transfer credit of an equivalent graduate course completed at another accredited college or university will be considered at the time of admission based on course descriptions and documentation submitted with the student’s application. Courses accepted in transfer must meet the academic criteria established by Framingham State University. A maximum of two (2) graduate courses may be accepted in transfer and applied toward a Framingham State University degree program.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

Demonstrate conceptual, analytical, and operational knowledge needed to assume or advance in a position in human resource management
Employ a proper balance of theoretical and practical knowledge to create a human resource management infrastructure to enable the organization to attract, hire, develop, and retain the best and most diverse human talent possible.
Demonstrate analytical, and communication skills (i.e., verbal, written, and presentation), and the body of HRM knowledge needed to consult with organizational members, management, and leadership to develop cost-effective and legally compliant solutions to organizational challenges at both the system and individual employee level.
Identify the best candidates through cost-effective methods and approaches to hire who have the requisite performance skills and organizational fit consonant with their organization.
Construct an organizational environment that promotes maximum employee engagement and productivity by utilizing their analytical, communications, and conceptual skills; and their business knowledge.
