Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 4+1 program?

How long does the 4+1 take?

About five years: four years for your bachelor's degree, then a summer, fall, spring and final summer for your master's.

Who can apply?

Framingham State undergraduates majoring in English, history, mathematics or studio art with an overall GPA of 3.00.

When do I apply?

No later than the end of your junior year.

Do I need to pass the MTEL to apply?

No. You'll need passing scores on the Communication and Literacy Skills MTEL before your teaching methods courses, and on your licensure MTELs before student teaching.
