Welcome, first-year and transfer students, to the Framingham State University fRAMily! We are so glad that you have chosen to attend FSU and we’re excited to help you succeed and reach your goals. Our team of Orientation Leaders are current students who will serve as a guide and mentor to you as you begin your journey into FSU! They have experienced everything you are also experiencing and are excited to work with you.

How Orientation Works: FSU’s Summer and Fall Orientation model has two parts:
- Taking Care of Business Support Sessions (highly encouraged)
- Support sessions offered throughout the summer to get paperwork done, meet with offices and finish your enrollment checklist
- Black and Gold Beginnings Orientation Program (required for all students to attend)
- 2.5 day program leading up to the first day of classes (yes, you totally get to move in early!) to show you around FSU before returning students come back! Check out the drop down’s below for more info on each session!

These support sessions are for you to quite literally, Take Care of Business! There is a lot to complete before starting school in the Fall. This program helps students, and supporters/families visit campus and talk to offices directly about required paperwork and business.
The Enrollment Checklist in your admission portal, must be completed in full before coming to campus for Fall 2026. The Taking Care of Business Sessions also allow you to get your Student ID and check out the spaces on campus! Offices in attendance will be:
- Financial Aid
- Advising
- In-Person Course Selection Help for Transfer students on specific dates
- Student Accounts/Billing
- Disability Services
- Health Center
- Residence Life
- Admissions
- Parking Services
- Dining Services
- Information Technology
- Student ID Office (Please bring a valid form of Government-issued photo identification: License, state ID card, passport, etc.)
- Students can also upload their ID photo through the steps in this PDF.
Sessions will be offered on the following dates and new and transfer students only have to attend one of their choosing.

- Wednesday, July 15th, (Virtual Session) 10am-11:30am

- Saturday, July 25th 9:30am-12:00pm
- All ResLife Community Meet and Greet Event: See you room, meet roommate/hallmates, check out all Residence Halls! 1-3pm
- Tuesday, August 4th (Virtual Session) 10:00am-11:30am

- Thursday, August 6th 4:30pm-7:00pm
- Transfer Students: In person advising available BEFORE this Orientation session!
More on In-person Advising Appointments:
Transfer students will have the option to sign up for in-person advising information sessions prior to the Thursday Taking Care of Business Sessions. In these optional sessions, students will have the chance to meet with the Chair of their academic department or a member of the faculty to go over their previously earned credits and select classes for the Fall Semester!
First Year students are encouraged to schedule their advising appointments through Starfish with the Advising Center. In-person advising appointments are also available when booking.
Lunch or dinner will be provided.
Registration for Taking Care of Business sessions will open on March 9th.
This 2.5-day program takes place from August 30th-September 1st. Residential students will move in on Saturday, August 29th, 2026.
The Black and Gold Beginnings Program is to get students the necessary information to be successful in their transition into Framingham State. This program is required for all new and transfer students coming into Framingham in the Fall.
New Students Attendance Requirements:
All new first year students will be required to attend Orientation all day on Sunday August 30th, Monday August 31st, and the half day on Tuesday September 1st.
Transfer Students Attendance Requirements:
All Transfer Students will be required to attend Orientation all day on Monday August 31st and a half day on Tuesday September 1st.
The program schedule will be posted in early August on this page for you to view.
Registration for Orientation will open in March.

- Information Technology Services (IT): Can help with Microsoft account, multi-factor authentication (MFA), wifi set up, and more.
- University Police: Understand campus safety protocol, Parking, the ID Office and more services that they provide to keep FSU safe!
