CELTSS Funding
The Office of Academic Affairs provides funds for faculty and librarian professional development based upon recommendations from CELTSS. Funding is available in several categories:

Course Release
-
Conducting research and creative work
-
Presenting research and creative work

Teaching and learning
-
Attendance at conferences or other professional workshops
After the CELTSS funding subcommittee evaluates and recommends requests for funding, all requests must be approved by the Office of Academic Affairs. Academic Affairs will provide a letter for all approved requests; the Business Office requires the letter before your expenses can be reimbursed.

Faculty Mentoring Program
This Faculty Mentoring Program is open to all full-time faculty and is designed for peer-to-peer faculty mentoring. Interested participants will be matched with 1 or 2 other faculty with complimentary interests/challenge areas. Full-time faculty from all career stages are encouraged to participate. We are also looking for faculty who are interested in mentoring early career-stage faculty. The goals of the program and participant expectations are listed below.
Goals of the program:
- Build connections between faculty from across disciplines
- Support the individual needs of faculty across every career stage
- Help new faculty feel welcomed and orient them to the FSU community
- Encourage faculty to set concrete and achievable professional goals
- Help faculty locate resources to support their professional goals
Participant Expectations:
- Commit to meeting with mentor pair/group 2-3 times per semester
- Attend seminars/workshops relevant to your professional goals throughout the year
- Contribute to seminar topic ideas
- Provide evaluation of the program

The CELTSS Center is located in Hemenway Hall, Room 208. The doors by the elevator that lead to the staircase also lead to a hallway. HH208 is located at the end of the hallway.
The Center is available for faculty use and may be booked for meetings and special events by e-mailing Gretchen DeMore at gdemore [at] framingham.edu (gdemore[at]framingham[dot]edu). The large table seats 20 people and there is a small seating area at one end of the room. The room also has a flat screen TV which can play DVD's and a laptop can be hooked up for PowerPoint presentations.
