The rapidly growing field of Digital Humanities combines traditional humanities subjects with digital computing tools to address issues of identity, history, and culture while offering students high-impact learning experiences that help them develop core career competencies. The Center for Digital Humanities (CDH), located in the Henry Whittemore Library, serves Framingham State University students, faculty, and staff—as well as members of the greater MetroWest community—through offering equipment, software, and training opportunities in digital humanities, as well as through assisting in the building, housing, and promotion of digital humanities projects.
About Us
The CDH was started in 2023 through the generosity of a National Endowment for the Humanities-American Rescue Plan grant, with additional activities supported through a National Endowment for the Humanities-Humanities Initiatives grant and a Digital Ethnic Futures Consortium grant. Its founding director is Dr. Bartholomew Brinkman.
