International Undergraduate Applicants

First-year applicants can apply with the Common App or the Framingham State University Application. Transfer applicants use the Framingham State University Application. There is a $50 application fee. Along with your application, send official transcripts, a course-by-course evaluation of your transcripts, English test scores if your education was in a language other than English, and F-1 visa documents if you need a student visa. To start in the fall (September), submit your application and all materials by June 1, and confirm your enrollment with a deposit by July 1. To start in the spring (January), apply by November 1 and submit your deposit by December 1. If you need an F-1 visa, apply early: interview wait times at U.S. embassies change weekly.

If your education was in a language other than English, you may need to show English proficiency. Framingham State accepts these tests and minimum scores: TOEFL iBT 79, Pearson PTE Academic 50, Duolingo 100, IELTS 6, Michigan MET 55, STEP Eiken Grade Pre-1, iTEP 3.7, or Cambridge English at CEFR level B2.

Yes. Framingham State needs an official course-by-course evaluation of your high school and any college or university transcripts. The Evaluation Company (formerly SpanTran) offers a custom Framingham State application that helps you choose the right evaluation at a discounted rate. You can also use another approved provider: The Center for Educational Documentation (CED), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), World Education Services (WES), International Education Evaluations (IEE), GEO Credential Services (formerly US Credential Evaluations) or Josef Silny & Associates, Inc.

No. SAT scores are optional for first-year applicants. If you'd like to include them, send an official SAT score report using Framingham State's College Board code, 3519.

If you're applying for an F-1 student visa, include two documents with your application: an original bank letter verifying your sponsor's financial information, and a completed Certification of Finances Form (PDF).

Yes, with your permission. Complete the Waiver of Confidential Information (PDF) and submit it with your application. It lets Framingham State discuss your application status with the people you name, such as a sponsor, friend or family member. This form is optional.

Congratulations! Once you confirm your spot with your enrollment deposit, the Office of International Student Services and Study Abroad will send you everything you need to get ready: your I-20, steps for applying for your F-1 visa, orientation details and health insurance requirements. To issue your I-20, the office needs your Certificate of Finances form, a copy of your passport and proof of available funds. Visit the International Students page for support with immigration, advising and settling in at Framingham State.
