Who does the CDEP serve?

The Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP) allows eligible Massachusetts high school students to take college courses and earn both:

  • High school credit 
  • College credit 

Under Framingham State’s new model, dual enrollment is managed through the Office of Family Engagement within the Division of Student Success.

Any student in Massachusetts may be eligible if they:

  • Meet program requirements – priority given to low-income families and/or first-generation students
  • Remain actively enrolled in high school 
  • Receive school/district approval 
  • Enroll in courses that count toward both high school and college credit 

Students are not eligible for CDEP funding if they:

  • Have already graduated high school 
  • Have earned a GED 
  • Are no longer enrolled in a high school (unless approved through a homeschooling process recognized by the district) 
  • CDEP funding is only available while students remain eligible for dual enrollment under state guidelines. 

Students in dual enrollment receive support with:

  • Course selection 
  • Application guidance 
  • Academic check-ins during the semester 
  • Problem-solving and navigation support
