Consensus is an AI-powered academic search engine. Results are derived from Semantic Scholar and summaries and analysis use OpenAI’s GPT-4 model. A unique feature is the Consensus Meter, which classifies studies as yes/no/possibly agreeing with the research question. Guest speaker Rebecca Dowgiert (Library) will join Steve Courchesne to share our emerging insights. We’ll also demo the tool and give you an opportunity to try it out.

Tim McDonald will discuss The Diamond Sea, a series of paintings created in 2020 which serves as a snapshot of his experience making work in difficult times when, “there seemed to be no escape from the constant pressure of the climate, both political and natural.” His paintings tap into the poetic and meditative qualities of creating in isolation.

Faculty and Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibition

The Henry Whittemore Library is excited to announce the return of our annual Faculty and Staff Arts and Crafts Exhibition. We are looking for any arts and crafts to display in the library and would love to feature yours!

Your art will be exhibited for 4 weeks from roughly April 6 through May 2, 2025.

Before the exhibition, the artwork will be stored in the Special Collections Room at the Henry Whittemore Library. The Special Collections Room is normally open 8-5 Monday through Friday. Please notify Colleen Previte  cprevite [at] framingham.edu (cprevite[at]framingham[dot]edu)  508-626-4648, detailing the day and time you want to drop your art off.

Please submit your artwork by Friday, March 28, 2025.

Upon submission, we request that your artwork be labeled with your name, title, department name, and information about the artwork- title, and medium.

All submissions will be displayed on the bulletin boards/walls (for framed and hangable pieces) or in the display cases in the library lobby. Contact Colleen Previte if you have questions about how your work will be displayed or need other space considerations.

In the past we have had many wonderful submissions ranging from painted eggs, painted mandala work, diamond art, and crocheted items to paintings and ceramics. We look forward to seeing your arts and crafts and cannot wait to show them to the Framingham State University campus community! Thanks in advance for your participation.

Best wishes,
