October in New England is a time of vibrant foliage, cool nights, and outdoor festivals perfect for strolling with a cold apple cider in hand.

During Homecoming & Family weekend, departments and student organizations gathered on a closed-off State Street to show their ram pride, meet new and returning rams, and enjoy a crisp fall Saturday with FSU alumnus and DJ Mike Charles, who played music on the McCarthy Patio during the event.

Senior Sophia Oppedisano said she loved meeting with families and alumni who returned to campus to celebrate Homecoming.

“It’s so nice to see students spending time with their families, and everyone’s representing Framingham State in their merch, which just adds to the shared FSU pride,” she said.

Fall Fest activities included: face-painting; lawn games; student organization tabling and surprise visits from the Framingham State Police Department Comfort Dog Ramsey, and Sam the Ram.

Junior Alexis Schlesinger said she was pleased to see many student organizations represented at Fall Fest, including The Hilltop Players and FSU’s Fusion Dance Team.

Along with the fall festivities on State Street, many other events were taking place around campus, including the BIPOC brunch hosted by the Center for Inclusive Excellence.

Senior Izayah Morgan said this was his favorite event during the weekend and enjoyed the food and company at the brunch.

“Nancy Niemi and Jerome Burke killed it with their speeches this year!” Morgan said.
