Departmental Awards

The Education Department offers numerous awards each spring to graduating students who have demonstrated excellence during their time at Framingham State University. Faculty members submit nominations to the awards committee in February, and awards are granted at the annual awards ceremony each spring. Below are the descriptions of each award:

Child and Family Studies Award: This award recognizes a high achieving student in the Child and Family Studies program. This award recognizes a student for their academic performance, leadership, professional development, and service to the department and university.

Early Childhood Education Award: This award recognizes a high achieving student in the graduating class with a major in early childhood education. This award recognizes a student for their academic performance, leadership, professional development, and service to the department and university.

Elementary Education Award: This award recognizes a high achieving student in the graduating class with a major in elementary education. This award recognizes a student for their academic performance, leadership, professional development, and service to the department and university.

Secondary Education Award: This award recognizes a high achieving student completing a licensure program in secondary education. This award recognizes a student for their academic performance, leadership, professional development, and service to the department and university.

Education Department Award: This award is designed to recognize a student who, by exemplifying excellence in service, academic performance, and/or research, has made significant contributions to the Education Department. This award is presented to a student from any Education program.
