My name is Yurani Trevino.  I have been teaching for 25 years.  I started out as a teacher aide when I was 16 years old, and ever since I have taught different grade levels, from pre-school through high school.  I believe that we as educators have a tremendous responsibility.  We can make a student have a great school year, or even change the believe that they are not capable of doing something.  I like to get to know my students, learn about their background, family and from there try to find the best approach to engage them in class.  I understand sometimes it is more important that a student feels safe in the classroom than the concepts that he or she could have learned.  I am passionate about my job, and I do not see myself doing anything else.
