David Baldwin

Welcome to Framingham State University! Whether this is your first year or you are returning we are happy that you decided to be part of the FRAMily.

I believe that you will be pleased with the open and accepting community that has developed here. Our students, faculty, and staff work hard and willing to help one another succeed. There are many resources available to assist you in accomplishing your academic and social goals.

Here are some points to help you have a successful year:
• Study often and learn to manage your time!
• Get to know your faculty (visit office hours, they want to know you as well).
• Use the Center for Academic Support and Achievement (CASA) to gain tutoring assistance or fine-tune your study habit skills (everyone could use a refresher); CASA is poised to help, just ask.
• There are over 50 clubs and organizations to choose from, a myriad of intramural and varsity sports, and academic and/or social events occur every day. I urge you to participate, join, tryout, and/or attend; you won’t regret your decision.

I hope that you will stop by the Dean of Students Office to say hi or receive guidance on how to solve a problem. Either way the staff is ready and available to assist you in any way that we can. We are located in the McCarthy Center, Room 504 or you can call 508.626.4596.

Have a great year and work to uphold the University motto “Live to the Truth!”

Sincerely, David N. Baldwin
